Working with individuals

This section covers some of the considerations of working with individuals in Day Centres, both in terms of processes and methods of intervention and support, and in terms of meeting the particular needs of individuals. Content here should be read in conjunction with the procedural overviews in other parts of the handbook. This part concentrates on one-to-one work and the needs of individuals.

The first section presents an approach to Assessment in day centres, which covers assessing the strengths, needs and aspirations of individuals who visit day centres, with a view to developing a process of Keyworking and Support planning. This part includes a section on individual risk assessment that should be read alongside the relevant section in the part on Managing Risks.

This section covers good practice in the process of referrals as well as guidance in working effectively with A8 nationals, young people and people who misuse alcohol.
