We have not re-printed the updated material in hard copy handbooks because it will be regularly updated and added to, and maintainining the content online allows for it to be an evolving and improving source of good practice. Hard copy handbooks are not available at the moment, but the website pages can be printed. This page gives some tips for printing.
We are looking to develop an easier way to provide hard copies of the material here, however, as the site is regularly updated and designed to facilitate rapid and regular incorporation and addition of new material, any snapshot document (i.e. a PDF) would become out-of-date very quickly.
In the meantime, it is possible to print individual sections of the handbooks, and they are ordered and laid out to facilitate this logically. The main content sections are from left to right across the second level navigation (the coloured bar beneath the three tabs of Hostels, Day Centres and Resettlement and Move-on). Within this, each section's sections are in the order (top to bottom) of the right hand navigation. See also boxes and the options at the bottom of the page should also help you navigate logically through the content.
We are working to improve the print options and layout that you will get when you print, and improvements should be evident soon. In the meantime, we have found that the print margins work best in IE6 or Mozilla (and less well in IE7). You should make sure 'print all links' box is unticked in your print options.
Thank you for using Homeless Link handbooks, and if you would like to be notified of any developments in obtaining hard copy or print quality improvements, or if you have any suggestions please email the project co-ordinator.
