Staff and volunteers

Staff and volunteers are essential to the operation of an effective street outreach service. This section looks at the ways that these staff and volunteers can be recruited, supported and developed in order to deliver the best possible service.

This section is divided into the following parts:

Recruitment - considers how best to undertake the recruitment prcocess for all levels of street outreach staff

Volunteers looks at volunteers and the role they can have in street outreach teams

Supervision examines the purpose, principles and process of effective supervision

Appraisal highlights the appraisal process, the benefits of appraisals and ways to undertake them

Disciplinary and grievance looks at an example of a good practice approach to dealing with disciplinary and grievance issues

Risk management examines good working practice in managing the risks associated with street outreach
